         Wildredo Tamayo in full is Wildredo D. Tamayo. He was born April 22. 1955, Also known as Admiral Wildredo Tamayo, is the former Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard. He is currently the Senior Executive Vice President For Maritime Affairs University Of Perpetual Help System at UPIIS DALTA ,College of Maritime Education (Las Piñas Campus), UPHS JONFITA College of Maritime Education (Biñan Camps) and UUPHSI Maritime Training Center, Inc. (Cabuyao, Iaguna).

Admiral Wildredo Tamayo is married to Miss Anna Marie Puillas, a practicing dentist, and they are blessed with three (3) children namely John Santeo, Jan Marlina, and Joshmailliam. He is the son of the late LT Teolilo Loyola Tamayo PN(Ret)and the former Marina Gonzales Doria.

          Admiral Wildredo Tamayo former PCG Commandant studied at Esteban Abada Elementary School, Quezon City on April 1967 and Graduadted from San Francisco High School, also in Quezon City on April 1971. He studied at the Philippine Military Academy (Baguio City - from 1973-1974) After that, he took up Bachelor Of Science In Civil Engineering at the United States Coast Guard Academy, USA and graduated on May 1979. He also graduated with Masteral Degree in Business Administration at The University Of St La Salle. 

          He was appointed with major positions in Philippine Coast Guard such as Pioneer Commander of Task Force Sea Marshal, Chief of Coast Guard Staff, Commander of Coast Guard District Bicol, Commander of Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog, Commander of Coast Guard District National Capital Region-Central Luzon, Commander of Coast Guard Education and Training Command, Vice Commandant for Administration Coach at Coast Guard Operating Forces and Vice Commandant for Operations before he became the Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard from June 1, 2008 April 19, 2011.

          He retired  After 37 years of service in the Philippine Coast Guard and started his new career as the Executive Director For International Student Affairs at University Of Perpetual Help System Dalta, Las Piñas Campus. And now, he is the Senior Executive Vice President For Maritime Affairs University Of Perpetual Help System at UPIIS DALTA ,College of Maritime Education (Las Piñas Campus), UPHS JONFITA College of Maritime Education (Biñan Camps) and UUPHSI Maritime Training Center, Inc. (Cabuyao, Iaguna).
